The Nuba
After journeying thousands of miles across the African continent, George Rodger arrived in Kordofan. He photographed the Nuba, an amalgam of many peoples with different cultures and languages, living in the foothills of the Nuba Mountains, for a period of two weeks in 1949. This photograph depicts Dinka and Nuer girls dressed for a ceremonial dance in Kordofan, Southern Sudan, 1949.
