Tony McGee

Tony McGee

Tony McGee began working as a photographer at the age of 16; by age 21 his images had appeared on 25 magazine covers. In 1980 he was named Best British Photographer, and in 1982 he was awarded the title of the Best Fashion Photographer in the UK. During the early 1980s, McGee developed a profound personal and professional relationship with David Bowie that would produce some of the greatest photographs of Bowie ever captured. He went on to create award-winning fashion campaigns, photographing models such as Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Claudia Schiffer. In 1990 his portrait of Bowie was accepted into the National Portrait Gallery.
